Camera board • Many camera boards, many cables, many OS Versions

It used to be the csi cameras ( mine is a Pi Cam V2.1) just worked. Now it seems there are SO MANY problems for a lot if users.

I have tried two differnt pi cams, two arducams, with differnt cables and different OS versions from Bullseye to Bookwork - 32bit and 64 bit. None seem to reliably get the camera working. For the life of me I cannot get my csi cameras to work - yet I plug in a USB camera - bam - it works.

I am trying this in octoprint running on a Pi 3B+. I managed to get one of my 3B+ working with the PI Came by trying everything. Now I am not even suer what got it working but I can't get the same success of my second Pi3B+. I have tried so many things. Like I said - randonmly had luch on another identical pi3b+, but....

I am thinking maybe my camera port is fubar'd but can't really tell.

That said I have noticed a bunch of weird issues with Bullseye and Bookwork versions of the OS with pi 7" touchscreen as well. It seems what used to work to get touch working sometimes works automatically , sometimes you have to change the vc4 driver from kms to fkms, sometimes you have to specifically put in the overlay=ft5406, sometimes you don't.

Yikes.
