Raspberry Pi OS • Config.txt / Asus VW220T

Hey Everybody, I'm hoping for a little help. Ive recently bought an old Asus Monitor with a VGA and DVI D-sub Connection. I bought a Pi 400 second hand a few months ago but have not had a monitor to try it out. So I was disappointed when i received the monitor to see that it had no HDMI connection and have bought a cheep HDMI - DVI adapter. I thought it would be as simple as that but alas no ! So I've read up a little and tried a few small edits to the config.txt but i still get the error 'Out of Range' on the monitor. The monitors Manual can be found here :-

https://www.manualowl.com/m/Asus/VW220T/Manual/265333

and lists all the available supported resolutions in section 3.4 page 3-9. Its quite far down the PDF !

Now I'm also aware of the RpiConfig page :-

https://elinux.org/RPiconfig

Which talks about CEA and DMT Formats ? This confuses me as I don't understand which is relevant to my monitor and I have experimented with a few of the most common resolutions under VGA,XGA,VESA and WSXGA but nothing seems to work :/

I have little to no experience configuring monitors as being primarily a PC user its all been plug and play and I'm totally out of my depth here :/ Can anyone have a look at the monitor manual and tell me it it is even possible to use with a pi 400 and if it is what EXACTLY i need to do to make it work ! Its a big ask but i wouldn't ask if I could do it myself.

Any advice is appreciated,

Kind regards,
