Greetings,
I was following this guide to upgrade my raspi pi 4 (i think? i got it in 2020 and i cant check now because its borked!) and doing the upgrade process from Buster to Bullseye so i could update Pihole. Everything was initially going fine. I was SSHed into it, and upgrading was at 73% ish complete, and then it got hung up on one particular package which i wasnt able to write down the name of. It closed the connection after a while. I tried restarting the pi and it still wouldnt connect. I grabber her out of the corner and got a keyboard and mouse and hooked it up to the monitor and holding shift (with 2 keyboards) doesnt seem to do anything. It is just hung on the hold shift to recover screen after the rainbow splash initial boot up. I was able to do something to get it into NOOBS but it was completely blank and unresponsive. Nothing except Log out was available, and it didnt care to respond to my mouse.
Symptom Synopsis:Upgrade interrupted. System will not boot into OS, and NOOBS is picky about loading, and when it does, it has nothing available.
Background about this raspi - i use it mostly for running pihole (i havent gotten a zero or equivalent yet and i'm lazy) and not much else.
I can access all the files from the micro SD card using a reader and USB. However, it doesnt mount like a hard drive would. What files should i grab from it to use for the potential new system so i can save time and headache re-configuring the pihole system?
Is there anything I can do to recover this system or mount it and then force an upgrade that way? I just did this for a Solus laptop, i booted into a live instance, then mounted the hard drive and updated through chroot. Is there a similar method? Is there a way to change TTY to try and re run the upgrade? I haven't messed around with raspis since i set up pihole and periodically update. I haven't seen anything turn up during my searching as far as solutions.
Thank you.
