I am NOT a novice with Linux
I have an old RPi 2 and I was going to take it in use.
Upgrading the old system took over 10h, so I downloaded Raspberry Pi OS Lite, which was advertised to work in ALL RPi versions, including 2.
after raspi-config I gave the command
apt update; apt -y upgrade.
- it stopped after about half an hour
new try
- it stopped in exactly the same line:
linux-utils, 5%
Reinstallation -the same line
From the net I found a comment to increase the buffer size in /etc/dphys-swapfile from 100 to 2048
This made the upgrade run a bit longer, but stopped at 92%
I would recommend somebody to test the installation with the old models before telling that "compatible with all models".
