Hi All,

Thank you in advance for any help. I am brand new to this and I need a little guidance.

My overall goal is to create put a Pi inside a Lego head and tie it to an AI like ChatGPT so I can converse with it. Here's my project outline:
  • Connect Microphone so it can detect my voice commands
  • Connect Speakers and a 3.5 mm headphone jack; use the speakers when no headphones are present
  • Connect video screen to animate mouth moving when the AI is speaking
  • Use a physical switch to switch between ChatGPT accounts
  • Use LED lights to visually confirm which accounts are being used
  • Wire up a battery pack solution with wireless charging so I can make it mobile
I know this is a big project for a novice but I'm patient, and want to learn all of this so it feels like a great way to get started.

Today's question(s): How do I connect the PiTFT Screen and Speaker bonnet to the Raspberry Pi?
Items: Here are images of what I'm working with.

Question 1: Should I be connecting the Adafruit Speaker bonnet to the PiTFT Display and then connect the PiTFT Display directly to the Raspberry Pi 5? Both the TFT display and the Speaker bonnet have 2x20 GPIO female headers. The PiTFT Display also has a second set of Male pins. So it seems like a good fit but I can't find any documentation on whether it can all connect in this way. I also have to attach a microphone.

Question 2: The heatsink that Canakit provided is pretty beefy so I purchased (and am waiting on) a 2x20 GPIO female to male header extension so I can create some space between the TFT display and the heatsink. Is this the right thing to do?

Any help would be hugely appreciated. I'm a novice, so bear with me and my super noob questions. Thanks all.
