I have a project involving a Raspberry Pi 5 connected to a power bank via a 51Pi power distribution board. My issue is that when shut down, it sometimes powers up again spontaneously. It just happened while I was away from my desk, after it had been sitting in shutdown mode for about six hours.
My leading suspicion is the power button. I hav a ruggedized metal button connected to the power button terminals of the RPi 5, and to a GPIO pin and Ground to light a low-power indicator LED. It works exactly as expected - when pressed, it boots the RPi if it's off and initiates a soft shutdown if it's on. I'm wondering if it is triggering a spontaneous startup when it's powered off. But that seems unlikely since I've never seen it initiate a spontaneous shutdown. Yes, I can disconnect it and see if the problem disappears; no, I haven't tried that yet; yes, I will do so. But before I go through that hassle, I figured I'd post here to see if anyone else has encountered similar behavior due to other causes.
