Hi,
We are having the exact same issue as in this thread: viewtopic.php?t=349340
The new revision of RPi 3B+ R9 Rev 1.4 does not boot and the LED flashes with Error code 4 long + 7 short (Power Failture Type B). This is expected as detailed in the PCN: https://pip.raspberrypi.com/categories/797-pcn , but none of the solutions tried has worked so far.
We are using an img based on Stretch OS, and we can not upgrade to a new major version and would prefer doing the least updates possible, as this is part of a stable production line.
The solution of replacing the boot files (start*.elf, fixup*.dat and bootcode.bin), stated in the previous mentioned thread, did not solve the issue in our img. However, when I tried replacing the boot files on a clean Stretch image (https://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspb ... h-lite.zip), it does work fine. This makes me suppose that there is some sort of configuration of our img that it's preventing the boot files to correctly load.
I have also tried to upgrade the firmware in the different ways specified in https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentati ... e-software and in the whitepaper 'Updating Raspberry Pi firmware', and none of them worked.
Does anyone know what could be causing the issue?
Thanks in advance!
